Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer
- Solutions Engineering based in Spain. You will develop open source software that enables efficient DevOps workflows across bare-metal systems, private clouds, Kubernetes, and high-performance computing environments. The role combines hands-on Python and Go development with deep exposure to the Linux stack, from networking and storage to virtualization and containers. You will help design reliable automation, monitoring, and alerting capabilities that simplify complex infrastructure operations. You will collaborate with engineers across multiple regions, contribute to upstream projects, and help establish strong engineering and development practices. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate software engineer who wants to grow technically while solving challenging distributed systems and cloud infrastructure problems. Design, develop, test, and deliver high-quality open source software operations code primarily using Python and Golang. Work across the Linux technology stack, including the kernel, networking, storage, virtualization, containers, and applications. Build and improve open source infrastructure for monitoring, alerting, automation, and reliable operations. Apply strong software engineering principles across architecture, implementation, testing, documentation, performance, and maintainability. Follow agile software development practices and contribute to efficient, high-quality delivery. Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams to solve complex infrastructure and software operations challenges. Participate in internal and external events, with global travel of up to 10% of the time. Strong professional experience as a software engineer, with particular expertise in Python development. Passion for building reliable, maintainable, and high-quality software and a strong understanding of the importance of dependable operations in an agile environment. Practical knowledge of Linux and networking, with an interest in working across the broader Linux stack. Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies. Strong engineering judgment, with demonstrated attention to software quality, correctness, testing, documentation, and performance. Excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to delivering software on time and to a high standard. Golang programming experience is a valuable advantage. A university degree in Computer Science, software engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Compensation shaped by geographical location, experience, and performance. Annual compensation reviews, with more frequent reviews where appropriate for graduates and associates. Performance-driven annual bonus or commission. USD 2,000 annual personal learning and development budget. Annual holiday leave.
