Mission

Reporting to the Head of Business Development – Iberia, you will lead the origination and development of hybrid renewable projects (PV + Wind + BESS) in Iberia, ensuring their integration into Zelestra's portfolio. The role contributes to maximizing project value, enhancing competitiveness, and supporting the 2026–2030 business targets. Additionally, it is responsible for delivering and validating the business case modelling inputs for hybrid projects, ensuring robust financial assessment, risk analysis, and value optimization.

Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Portfolio Development

  • Support the definition and execution of the hybridization strategy for Iberia BU in close coordination with the Head of BD Iberia, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of hybrid renewable projects, ensuring technical, regulatory, and financial viability.
  • Integrate BESS as a value-enhancing component across the BD portfolio.

2. Origination & Development

  • Originate and structure hybrid projects, coordinating with land, grid, and permitting teams.
  • Lead development activities from early stage to Contracted/NTP, ensuring compliance with financial, technical, and commercial requirements.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Regulatory, and Commercial Structuring to ensure bankability.
  • Take ownership of the business case input for all hybrid projects, ensuring robust financial modelling, risk assessment, and value optimization.

3. Market & Regulatory Intelligence

  • Monitor regulatory, market, and technological trends affecting hybrid projects and BESS.
  • Identify new revenue streams (capacity, ancillary services, arbitrage) and public funding opportunities.
  • Provide market insights to the Head of BD Iberia to inform strategic decision-making.

4. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as main point of contact with TSOs, DSOs, regulators, and partners for hybrid projects.
  • Represent Zelestra in sector-specific forums and industry working groups.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise and mentor Senior Project Developer and Project Developers within the hybridization team.
  • Ensure team performance, talent development, and delivery of business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with other BD areas (Origination, M&A, Project Development) for portfolio consistency.
  • Escalate strategic priorities and decisions to the Head of BD Iberia, ensuring coordinated execution across the BU.
Job Requirements

Education:

  • Engineering, Energy, or related field. Master's in Renewable Energy, Power Systems, or Business is a plus.

Experience:

  • +10 years in renewable energy project development.
  • Proven track record in BESS and/or hybridization projects (from concept to NTP/financing).
  • Knowledge of Spanish grid codes, regulatory frameworks, and storage revenue models.

Skills:

  • Strong strategic vision and analytical skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence external stakeholders.
  • Leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
