Key Responsibilities
Reporting into the Divisional Director, Spain, the Retail Business Development Manager will play a key part in the success of the Retail division throughout Spain and Europe, growing existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities for the rental of refrigeration equipment during retail seasonal campaigns and store refurbishments as well as driving the success of our long-term rental offering across the same.
The successful candidate for this position will be a true 'hunter' business development professional, focused on landing new business, and key responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with both the Divisional Director, Spain and CCO to execute the Retail sales strategy to achieve projected growth in line with the wider business goals.
- Develop relationships with targeted prospects via various communications channels and networking.
- Identifying and maximising key opportunities including arranging calls and meetings and managing multiple business development engagements to achieve a robust pipeline.
- Develop existing client relationships to maximise growth.
- Liaise with stakeholders, contractors and operational teams on a technical level.
- Build strong and lasting relationships with key external stakeholders, positioning Lowe Rental Corporation as a supplier of choice.
- Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of key customer needs, maximising potential sales opportunities.
- Be fully conversant in our solutions and advising clients on services and products in a consultative manner.
- Undertake market research and analysis to inform the business planning process and discover new potential opportunities for growth.
- Accurately monitor and record all sales figures and report accurately and consistently via the internal reporting system.
- Identify and understand industry-specific trends and landscapes.
- Work closely with the wider sales team to identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Achieving forecasted growth while following defined strategy by achieving monthly personal targets
- In line with Lowe brand, act with the highest degree of integrity and professionalism at all times.
Essential Skills and Experience

As a key appointment within the business, this role attaches a significant level of responsibility and requires the following skills and experience;
- Significant experience in a sales or business development role within a high growth environment. Experience of selling a rental product or service offering would be desirable, but is not essential.
- Proven experience of upselling and cross-selling product offerings and growing accounts.
- Ability to learn and develop a strong knowledge of technical projects.
- Demonstrable experience of achieving set sales targets.
- Demonstratable experience of key account management and development of key account growth.
- Strong customer facing skills at all levels.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management capability.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to create and sustain professional relationships.
- Computer literate.
- Previous experience of using a software-based CRM system
- Keen interest in working within a busy and diverse environment.
- Regular travel required throughout Spain and occasionally wider Europe.
- Confident communicating in English (B2 or higher).
