Job Description:

  • At Assurant, we are committed to putting our customers at the center of everything we do. We are building the next generation of engineering capabilities by combining strong software engineering practices with AI-enabled development. We are seeking forward-thinking engineers who embrace innovation, diversity, and continuous learning in a collaborative environment.
  • Technology at Assurant drives strategy, modernizes platforms, and enables secure, scalable, always-on customer experiences across claims and policy systems through web, mobile, and partner channels.
  • Our mission is to deliver stable, secure, scalable, and AI-accelerated solutions that increase business value, improve developer productivity, and delight our customers.
  • We are seeking an AI-Enabled Software Engineer who combines solid technical skills with fluency in agentic AI development using Claude agents to accelerate the full software delivery lifecycle.
  • This role is about working in a fundamentally new way: partnering with Claude agents to design, code, unit test, run Playwright functional tests, and conduct PR reviews—delivering higher quality software, faster, with the engineer owning outcomes, direction, and verification.
  • You will help build and evolve cloud-native applications while adopting AI-native engineering practices as part of your daily workflow.

Key Responsibilities

AI-Enabled Engineering

  • Use Claude agents as a primary development partner across the SDLC:
  • Design — translate requirements into technical designs, evaluate approaches, and draft architecture with agent assistance
  • Code — generate, refactor, and document code, keeping the engineer accountable for correctness and quality
  • Unit testing — create and maintain unit tests with strong coverage
  • Functional testing — author and run Playwright end-to-end and functional tests
  • PR review — use Claude agents to assist with pull request reviews, catching defects, style issues, and risks before merge
  • Apply best practices for the responsible and secure use of AI agents, including reviewing and validating all agent-generated output before it ships.
  • Continuously refine prompts, context, and agent workflows to improve reliability and results.

Technical Delivery

  • Design and deliver scalable, secure, cloud-native solutions using:
  • .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core, APIs)

  • Azure Cloud Services
  • Contribute to microservices, APIs, and distributed systems, with attention to sound design patterns.

DevOps & Azure Ecosystem

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (YAML pipelines).
  • Apply best practices in:
  • Automated testing (unit, integration, functional/Playwright)
  • Continuous delivery and deployment
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Enterprise)
  • Support integration across App Gateway, APIM, and backend services. Observability & Operational Excellence
  • Implement monitoring and observability using:
  • Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics
  • Datadog
  • Help identify and resolve performance, reliability, and scalability issues.
  • Assess the impact of platform updates (e.g., Microsoft releases) on applications. Business Value Enablement
  • Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into working, tested solutions aligned to business outcomes.
