**About role**:
At eSky, we are on a mission to become the first choice travel planning platform in Europe. A vital pillar in our strategic plan is to become a top virtual travel orchestrator - that is to provide the right products for customers at every stage of their travel journey. Key to this is developing the best Hotel experience for our customers, which will be established via a new team of experts who will help eSky realise and drive value from its hotel relationships, and Packaging tooling configuration.
Our Lead Market Manager will help us strategically develop the best hotel portfolio, matching the right hotels with our customer base, and developing new hotel cohorts to bring in new customers. The lead market manager will have intimate knowledge of inbound travel to European Short Haul Beach destinations, such as Spain, and how to derive maximum value from these destinations.
- Proven background, with over 3 years experience, within a travel product manager role, with considerable experience in rate negotiations focussed specifically on the European Short Haul Beach segment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced digital environment, with leadership and/or management experience
- Numerate with strong commercial acumen, and objective methodologies to identify and promote the right hotels to eSky customers
- Self starter - proactive, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving abilities and able to manage effectively own workload
- Fluency in spoken and written English is a must, with conversational Spanish beneficial
**Key role responsibilities**:
- Creation and development of Dynamic Packages that deliver planned volume, margin and revenue targets across key destinations, through
- Working closely with existing and potential new accommodation suppliers to drive optimisations to the rates and availability of our most important hotels
- Aligning with the eSky’s Category Management and Marketing teams to ensure these these products are promoted effectively, and positioned correctly on the website
- As a Lead Market Manager, establishing the Market Manager function at eSky, working as a mentor and leader to other Market Managers, and Category Managers
**Specific role responsibilities**:
- Specialism in understanding inbound leisure travel to Mediterranean areas (such as Spain, Greece, Italy or other large tourist destinations for Polish, British and German customers).
- Negotiating better commercial outcomes with key suppliers for our hotel inventory, which may involve international travel
- Drive forward global inventory categorisation to enable eSky to better realise value from its hotel inventory
- Research the market and develop product/destination portfolios to enable eSky to grow
- Monitor key eSky competitors for changes that affect eSky’s competitive position, and propose responses
- Driving solutions set through market requirements, product proposition and positioning
- Introduction of new products cohorts to help eSky grow, and development and modification existing ones
- Preparation of sales/traffic plans based on sales data and market research, enabling eSky to better forecast its sales projections
- Deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
