**Who we are**

Mitiga is a spinoff of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, which hosts MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe.

At Mitiga, we want to make the world more resilient against natural hazards and climate extremes. We're on a mission to create the most reliable technology solutions to manage climate-induced risks with science, AI, and high-performing computing. We want to help prevent hazards from becoming disasters contributing to climate resilience, adaptation, and equity.

**Who you are**

We are looking for a dynamic communications professional with a strong understanding of the media ecosystem in Spain and Western Europe, and a strong background in corporate and digital communications. You bring a solid roster of relationships and contacts in the media across a wide array of verticals (broadcast, print, online, etc.) and are able to build relationships with new contacts in our targeted industries (e.g., humanitarian, insurance, risk managers).

You have a passion for our environment and are an independent thinker and a self-starter with the ability to manage several projects at once with a high level of detail. You enjoy the hustle of a startup and have experience developing communications strategies for B2B companies.

**Your impact**
- Building creative digital stories_: as an avid consumer of news, social media, and information, you have the ability to analyze and synthesize technical information simply and quickly to identify trends and content opportunities. You create persuasive and compelling digital content that reinforces organizational messaging, advances our mission, supports our marketing and sales goals, and drives engagement.
- You are a media magnet:_ you will act as a media relations expert and leader, working to tell the Mitiga's story across a wide array of media verticals, while fostering and maintaining top media relationships to support message pull-through and our own brand storytelling. In all your endeavors, you know how to excel in positioning Mitiga as a thought leader slated to become the first science-driven risk management company in the world.
- Act as a Community Manager:_ serving as the liaison between Mitiga and its audience. In this capacity, you will act as the voice, tone, and moderator of the brand through community support, content distribution, and digital engagement to build brand presence and trust, both online and in-person.You will serve as the company's spokesperson.
- You understand that communication is a team sport_: you will work with multiple business units to create compelling stories, including research and insights, business development, marketing and social media, content, and influencer marketing. You will support different initiatives lending your superb communications skills to drive growth.
- You get it that brand is a verb:_ You will serve as the custodian of our beloved brand, delivering its purpose consistently across a range of physical and digital touch points, while adapting to different channels, consumer needs, and cultural moments.

A recent study shows that one in every 10 tech workers in Spain are women. Only 8% of all contracts in 2019 with people with disabilities were in technology and science. Meanwhile, 30% of LGTBIQ people in Spain do not come out in the workplace for fear of discrimination.
