Chef de Partie, Pastry Moments

**A brief description about us**:
Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona is an exclusive 5-star hotel located on Barcelona's Paseo de Gracia, also home to several historic modernist works and architectural gems by Gaudi.

The hotel belongs to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group which is an international hotel management group with more than 38 luxury hotels, resorts and residences with a worldwide presence in Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Mandarin Oriental Barcelona Hotel has 120 rooms, 28 of which are suites. All of our exquisite rooms and suites are uniquely decorated by Patricia Urquiola.

In addition to accommodation, the hotel has rooms that we rent for all kinds of events, such as weddings, meetings, business meetings...

Regarding the hotel's gastronomy, we have a 2 Michelin star restaurant, a wonderful cocktail bar, indoor garden Mimosa and the pool terrace where you can enjoy light dinners or spectacular views.

The hotel Spa consists of 8 treatment rooms, both facial and body, indoor pool and gym.

We are currently looking for new talent to join the Moments restaurant as Chef de partie.

**What will be the main functions you will perform in your position?**

**Major Responsibilities**
- To assist both the Pastry Chef and Sous Chef in the production of pastry goods to hotel standards
- To motivate colleagues to work as part of a high quality team

**Daily duties**
- Utilises all pastry specialist items including tempering machines, beaters, mixers, ice cream makers, baking ovens etc.
- To ensure that the uniform provided is clean, presentable and in good condition, ensuring personal appearance and hygiene standards are an example for the team
- To produce all pastry items required on a daily basis efficiently and promptly
- To ensure that all relevant functions are communicated to everyone within the Pastry department
- To assist in the planning of daily and weekly work activities
- To assist with the completion of any required centre pieces as necessary
- To develop recipes as requested
- To ensure that cleanliness levels adhere to both hotel standards and health, hygiene and safety legislation.

**Periodic Duties**
- To be flexibility with regards to shift allocations
- To participate in external events such as competitions, gala events, charity events To assist in departmental training

**Occasional Duties**
- To deputise in the absence of the Sous Chef or Pastry Chef
- To assist in general kitchen areas
- To carry out any other reasonable requests as directed by your manager
