Startup Accountant

We are a **fast-growing SaaS startup**, and we're looking for a Startup Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role is a great opportunity to contribute to a growing company, work with a tight-knit team, and help shape our operations.

The Startup Accountant position is **available immediately**. The position offers a flexible work arrangement, with a combination of remote work and on-site collaboration at our co-working space** in **Barcelona**.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Accounting**
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Manage accounts receivables and accounts payables invoice processing and oversee payroll budgeting and auditing to ensure payroll accuracy.
- Handle and monitor financial transactions, including invoicing, payments, and expense reimbursement.
- Work closely with our Head of Operations, C-Levels and Business Unit Leaders to ensure that books are kept up to date and accurate for quick decision making and reporting
- **Finance**
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and conduct regular KPIs analysis to measure financial performance.
- Create and maintain budgets and financial forecasts, including budget-to actual/variance reporting, financial planning and analysis, cash flow analysis, and cost savings analysis.
- Provide assistance and advice on financial tasks to ensure informed and strategic decisions.
- **Administrative**
- Create and establish operational protocols and guidelines to ensure efficient daily business operations
- Manage HR payroll processes and ensure timely and accurate payments to employees.
- Collaborate with suppliers for equipment procurement.

**Requirements**:

- BSc. in **Accounting, Finance**, or a related field. MSc./MBA is a plus.
- **Proficiency in English** is required; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Proven work experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software. Xero is a plus.
- **Excellent knowledge of Excel** and/or Google Sheet, any coding language (JavaScript, VBA, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to an ever-changing work environment and demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and open-mindedness.
