The Role We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee a variety of day-to-day operational tasks and ensure accurate financial records. In this role, you will work closely with the rest of the Accounting & Financial Operations team based in Barcelona, as well as with other departments, to improve our processes whilst ensuring compliance. What Will You Be Doing? Participate in and own areas of the monthly and yearly closings as well as perform daily bookkeeping. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to guarantee accuracy and completeness across different companies within the group. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations across different geographies. Implement and improve internal controls and accounting procedures, especially for accounts payable and bank reconciliations. Assist in the implementation of accounting tools & software. Continuously improve financial processes to support company scalability. Prepare for and support annual audits, including compiling required documentation. Generate financial reports and KPIs for internal stakeholders upon request. Collaborate cross-functionally on finance matters throughout the business. What Will Make You a Great Fit 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years in a startup or fast-paced environment. In-depth knowledge of Spanish GAAP and local tax legislation. Experience managing all areas of accounting operations. Proficiency with accounting software - NetSuite a plus. Advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills. Strong understanding of internal controls and financial compliance. Proactive, hands-on attitude with the ability to work independently. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, in English. Proven capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Growth mindset - comfortable working in an evolving startup environment. Tech awareness - active interest in technology and automation.
