Job Description

About the Position

Vall d'Hebron Institut de Recerca is seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team in the Research group on Neuromuscular and Mitochondrial diseases. The successful candidate will participate in the project "Identification of factors regulating mitochondrial respiratory complex I function and stability: exploring novel opportunities for therapeutic intervention (TARGETCOMPLEX-I)".

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the generation, management, and biochemical/molecular characterization of genetically modified mice.
  • Design and conduct in vivo and in vitro preclinical assays for complex I deficiency.
  • Write manuscripts and present results at local and international meetings.
  • Contribute to the general shared tasks of the laboratory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (300 ECTS credits) or Master's Degree in biomedical sciences (or equivalent).
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification as User of Laboratory Animals (certified for A, B, and C functions).
  • Dedicated interest in mitochondrial biology.
  • Prior experience working with cell culture and laboratory mice.
  • Prior experience in state-of-the-art biochemistry and molecular biology techniques.
