Position Overview:

The role is centered on the rapidly expanding EMEA region, specifically focusing on Growth Emerging Markets. The chosen candidate will assist the EMEA Compensation, Reporting, and Planning Managers to fulfill Boston Scientific's overarching objectives through proficient planning, analysis, and reporting tasks. Responsibilities include developing tools, conducting analyses, managing closing activities, supporting the region directly and indirectly, calculating commissions, and defining the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) process.

The EMEA Financial Operations (FinOps) team is at the forefront of innovation within Boston Scientific's global finance framework. The selected individual will engage in transformative projects that will revolutionize finance operations worldwide, incorporating new reporting systems, leveraging artificial intelligence, and redefining processes while acting as a catalyst for change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver essential financial support to Country and Central FP&A Managers, fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with FP&As to prepare the monthly closing process for sales and operational expenditures, providing insightful variance analyses against plans and previous years.
  • Generate monthly financial reports covering sales, cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory, operational expenses (OpEx), and operational income (OpInc) for FP&As and business stakeholders.
  • Work with FP&As to define new financial reports aimed at performance tracking and provide training to FP&As and business stakeholders.
  • Aid FP&As in analyzing performance trends and conducting ad-hoc analyses on sales and OpEx, investigating significant variances from plans.
  • Oversee the calculation of quarterly commissions for employees.
  • Contribute to the establishment of annual targets for sales representatives.
  • Assist FP&As in the annual financial planning and forecasting processes by preparing relevant templates and managing financial data within the financial systems.
  • Offer ongoing user support and training on financial systems.
  • Actively participate in FP&A processes, including preparing quarterly business reviews.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with divisional FP&As, serving as the FinOps representative for the assigned division.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of all reports delivered to the division, adhering to policies and deadlines.
  • Analyze competitors and industry best practices to propose innovative initiatives.
  • Engage as a key contributor in new developments and European/Corporate projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or Finance Operations.
  • A mindset geared towards continuous improvement with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to autonomously manage workload while fostering team spirit.
  • Experience working under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for delivering presentations at the management level and influencing stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience in matrix organizations is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English is required; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with systems such as Tableau, Hyperion, and SAP.
  • Accounting experience is beneficial.
