We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join our team at Dbrs. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in providing expert legal advice and guidance to our business leaders and teams.
Key Responsibilities- Provide legal support to our commercial business initiatives and collaborate with our business development team to drive growth and success.
- Negotiate and advise on complex commercial contracts, including letters of engagement, confidentiality agreements, and rating feed agreements.
- Review and advise on non-reliance and hold harmless letters from accounting firms and other providers of reports in the credit analytical function.
- Work closely with our Compliance team, Regulatory team, Marketing and Communications team, and People and Culture team to ensure that Dbrs is properly managing legal compliance and regulatory responsibilities.
- Support the commercial legal needs of our Morningstar Credit Analytics (MCA) team, including negotiating agreements with potential clients of MCA platforms and data feeds.
- Ensure that Dbrs and MCA commercial activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and commercial requirements.
- Law degree and admission to practice as a solicitor in Germany, Spain, or England.
- At least 5 years of corporate, transactional, or financial services experience, with credit rating, capital markets, or regulatory/compliance experience being an advantage.
- Strong English language skills, with other languages being an advantage.
- Strong business acumen, leadership skills, and the ability to influence.
- Integrity and a high degree of professional ethics.
- Excellent judgment and analytical skills.
- First-class interpersonal and communication skills.
