Job Title: Senior Legal Advisor

Barclays is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Advisor to join our Iberian legal team. As a key member of our team, you will provide legal coverage, regulatory compliance, and development of Iberian Investment and Corporate Banking businesses, with a focus on debt capital markets in Spain and Portugal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and support to the management of the Spanish and Portuguese branches.
  • Support the Banking, Markets, and Corporate Banking teams on a broad range of complex international transactions.
  • Collaborate with external law firms and business and infrastructure colleagues in London and in country.
  • Develop and implement best practice legal strategies for risk management and compliance.
  • Stay up to date on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the bank's operations in the country or region.
Requirements:
  • Spanish law qualified lawyer with experience in house in a top-tier Spanish or international law firm or in a financial institution.
  • Experience with relevant financial services products, with a focus on debt capital markets transactions.
  • Good communication skills, ability to work as part of a team and collaboratively across business and infrastructure functions with multiple stakeholders.
  • Native Spanish speaker and proficient in English language.
