TikTok is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team in Spain & Portugal. As a key member of our corporate function, you will provide legal support and strategic advice on all commercial activities across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including media buying agreements, agency partnerships, marketing agreements, talent agreements, collaboration agreements, and sponsorship agreements.
  • Advise on initiatives to support creators and activations of TikTok's operations team plans.
  • Provide guidance on compliance issues relating to advertising, monetization, consumer protection, and media regulations relevant to the Spanish and Portuguese markets.
  • Identify potential risks from the Spanish and Portuguese legal ecosystem and liaise with legal colleagues and senior business leads to address those risks.
  • Support the wider legal team with matters affecting Spain and Portugal, including litigation, regulatory matters, intellectual property, and privacy.
  • Assist government relations and public policy teams in advocacy work.
  • Support knowledge management, template development (including playbooks), process improvement, and training.
Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Independent and capable of making decisions autonomously, demonstrating self-reliance and judgment.
    • Experience advising platforms, digital content, or advertising businesses, either in private practice or in-house.
    • Understanding of digital advertising, digital rights acquisition, and familiarity with privacy issues, particularly GDPR.
    • Strong commercial acumen and comfort in making commercial decisions while mitigating legal risk.
    • Solid experience in drafting and negotiating agreements.
    • Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills, able to connect with different teams within the legal and business organization.
    • Business proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience working in an international business.
    • Passionate about the law with a pragmatic work style.
    • In-depth knowledge of intellectual property rights and data protection.
    • Proactive in identifying and addressing potential risks for TikTok.
    • Proficiency in Portuguese and Italian is a plus but not mandatory.
