Job Description

Bynder is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead our Software Engineering department. As a servant-leader, you will focus on the growth and well-being of people and the communities within the department.

The primary responsibility of the Software Engineering Manager is people management. You will identify the right candidates for the teams, work with the recruiting partner to bring them on board, and actively engage and retain Byndies. You will also foster the career growth of team members by seeking challenging, impactful work for all members of the team based on their skills and interests.

The Software Engineering Manager will set clear objectives and address performance issues with support from their manager. They will stimulate team members to explore opportunities to work on next-level assignments that demonstrate readiness for promotion when appropriate. The manager will collect and provide real-time (360) feedback and coaching to the team members to drive high performance and career growth.

The Software Engineering Manager will champion their team members with others at Bynder, including leadership. They will maintain high-level expertise in their field, strive to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes, and reduce waste. The manager will assure that competence-related processes and deliverables meet quality, security, and compliance guidelines.

The Software Engineering Manager will help create and oversee competence-specific budgets and engage in cost management strategies. They will advocate on behalf of team members by securing adequate resources for success.

The ideal candidate will have a BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience). They will have a management background (2+ years) and experience managing larger engineering teams in SaaS organizations. The candidate will have experience working with remote and distributed teams, growing and developing people and their careers, and working with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.

The Software Engineering Manager will have exceptional communication skills, both within their team and with leadership and stakeholders. They will have experience building and leading business units, including ownership and optimization of business performance metrics. The candidate will have an understanding of software systems design principles and be a resident of the European Union.
