The Energy Unit at Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced HVDC Control and Protection Engineer to join our Transmission & Distribution division. As a key member of our HVDC team, you will work on various projects related to HVDC control and protection systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the existing HVDC team on all matters and projects related to HVDC control and protection systems.
- Work on feasibility studies, optioneering studies, specification preparation, technical bid review, design assurance, design review, site and FAT visits, OEM support services, site pre-commissioning and commissioning oversight supervision, and due diligence.
- Provide technical expert services and original design may also be involved.
Candidate Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have experience in HVDC, ideally with an OEM, consultancy, or owner. You should demonstrate a good understanding of control/networking hardware, cubicle design & drawings, HMI design, protection basic principles, operational technology, common communication protocols utilised in substation and HVDC systems, and SCADA systems. A good understanding of HVDC control & protection engineering and design system studies is also essential.
