Fever is seeking a Data Protection Specialist - Global Compliance to join its Legal, GRC & Policy Team in Madrid, Spain. The ideal candidate will be an open-minded problem-solver eager to learn about data protection and implement a global privacy program for a compliance-centric product with excellent user experience.
The selected individual will work within the Privacy Team, handling law-related privacy issues in support of various other departments at Fever. They will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience in cutting-edge global privacy practices and policies while developing practical legal skills in a structured internship, making a tangible impact on the company's growth.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Privacy Team in developing Fever's privacy program to ensure ongoing compliance with data protection laws across Europe (GDPR) and international regulations within EMEA, APAC, US & Canada, LATAM territories.
- Coordinating responses to requests/complaints from individuals (data subject requests).
- Drafting/revising data protection agreements and clauses, including complex data-sharing/data processing agreements, with input into general commercial contracts and negotiations.
- Identifying and escalating significant actual or potential data protection/privacy issues and regulatory trends.
- Researching, reviewing, and drafting consumer-facing policies, terms, and conditions.
- Conducting legal research across a range of practice areas (mainly in privacy & AI).
- Taking responsibility for knowledge/document management.
Requirements:
- A student looking to learn through experience.
- An excellent academic record - knowledge of data protection, privacy regulations, and past exposure to foreign legal systems is beneficial.
- A team player and effective communicator.
- Fluent English speaker - other languages are a plus, especially Portuguese, French, or German.
- Available to start working full-time in Madrid for 6 months (with flexible start/end dates and part-time options negotiable).
- Currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree/masters program in data protection, privacy, or new technologies with a recognized university.
- An internationally recognized privacy certification is a plus.
