About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned security professional to protect our infrastructure, applications, and services used by employees and clients every day. As a Protection and Security Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing security policies and procedures, responding to security incidents and vulnerabilities, and working closely with product delivery teams to embed security into their culture and ways of working.

Your Mission:

You will manage security across multiple data centers and cloud environments, automating routine tasks like security scanning, patching, and configuration management to free up time for more strategic security initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Implementing and managing security systems across the entire organization's infrastructure, data, and applications to defend against security threats.
  • Working with networks, applications, and engineering teams to ensure that the organization's technology platforms, infrastructure, and systems are hardened and have the right level of observability.
  • Providing technical guidance and direction to product delivery teams on security architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of security solutions.
  • Proactively identifying security problems and improvements to be made within systems and applications deployment.
  • Assisting with enforcing security standards, policies, and procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Working with vendors and internal stakeholders to provide effective incident resolution.
  • Staying abreast of the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and continuously improving the company's posture on security.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need a curious mindset and a strong technical background in security, IT infrastructure, and software development practices. If you possess knowledge or have had exposure in any of the following areas, we would like to hear from you:

  • At least 2 years' experience in the security industry working in a technical role.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, security principles, and frameworks such as OWASP, NIST, etc.
  • Experience with threat modeling and basic technical risk assessment.
  • Experience in developing secure code and implementing secure development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Experience in dealing with security incidents and breaches, and performing incident response and forensics.
  • Design and implementation of enterprise security tools including IDS/IPS, content filtering, or SIEM.
  • In-depth understanding of network OSI model and web protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS.
  • A team player mindset, able to articulate security-related concepts to different levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment, taking multiple initiatives forward at the same time.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Full English professional proficiency.
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of approximately £60,000 - £80,000 per year, depending on location and experience. In addition to a generous salary, we also offer private life and health insurance, four weeks per year to work from anywhere for eligible employees, gym reimbursement, a hybrid working model with flexible hours, three volunteering paid days each year, and a generous referral program.
