About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Legal to join our leadership team at Seqera Labs. As a key member of our G&A team, you will be responsible for leading all company legal matters, from commercial to corporate legal aspects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Management: Oversee customer contract negotiations and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations in various jurisdictions.
  • Corporate Governance: Ensure compliance with laws and regulations in all our jurisdictions, including Spain and the USA, where most of our operations take place.
  • Legal Policies and Processes: Set up the legal function for success, implementing new policies and processes, ensuring the company's risks are covered, including GDPR best practices.
  • Employment Law: Ensure compliance with local laws for all employment-related matters, including contracts, special clauses, terminations, option plans, and local registrations.
  • Equity Management: Be the gatekeeper for all our stock or share option plans, responsible for providing an updated capitalization table, monitoring the company pool, and providing best-in-class documentation.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in leading legal teams and managing complex legal matters.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and corporate law, including GDPR and employment law.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to implement new policies and processes, ensuring the company's risks are covered.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide sound legal advice.
