The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Head of Legal to join our G&A leadership team, reporting directly to the VP of Finance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading all company legal matters, from commercial to corporate legal aspects.
Key Responsibilities- Contract management: oversee customer contract negotiations and ensure compliance with local laws.
- Corporate governance: ensure compliance with laws and regulations in all our jurisdictions, including Spain and the USA.
- Legal policies and processes: set up the legal function for success, implementing new policies and processes to ensure the company's risks are covered.
- Employment law: ensure compliance with local laws for all employment-related matters.
- Equity management: manage the company's stock or share option plans, ensuring best-in-class documentation.
- Corporate structure: review and optimize our current legal structure to minimize tax and legal risks.
- Litigation and Dispute Management: handle all legal disputes, including product liability claims and contractual disputes.
- Intellectual Property: ensure the company's IP is protected and collaborate with external IP advisors as needed.
- Insurance: manage contracts with our insurance brokers, including E&O and Cyber security insurances.
We are looking for a highly qualified candidate with a Master's degree in law and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. Previous experience in a law firm is a plus. You should have an agile mindset, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and make decisions quickly. Experience working in a startup environment is highly valued.
