About the Role

Serco, a leading provider of space services, is seeking a skilled Bid Manager to join our team. As a Bid Manager, you will play a crucial role in securing valuable business opportunities and contributing to the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities
  1. End-to-End Bid Management: Independently manage small to medium-scale bid processes, working closely with the Head of Bidding and individual bid teams.
  2. Support for Larger-Scale Bids: Support the management of larger-scale / strategic bids as required, working in collaboration with Bid Directors and BD Leads.
  3. Team Management: Manage physical and virtual bid teams, including securing inputs from key stakeholders, typically involving sales, technical, finance, commercial, legal, and marketing colleagues.
  4. Bid Strategy and Production: Manage / support the bid strategy and production process, from opportunity identification through to submission and follow-up.
  5. Governance Process: Manage / support the governance process for individual bids, working in partnership with Bid Directors (where applicable) and wider bid teams.
  6. Risk Management: Management and tracking of risks.
  7. Calendar and Budget Management: Manage individual bid calendars and budgets.
  8. SharePoint Site Management: Manage the SharePoint site for each specific bid.
  9. Bid Submission Portals: Manage bid submission portals.
  10. Ad Hoc Tasks: Ad hoc bid writing and production tasks as required.
  11. Client Presentations: Coordinate and contribute to client presentation / dialogue sessions as required.
Requirements
  1. Experience: 2 years of successful experience in the management of live bids.
  2. Intellect and Skills: The ideal candidate possesses a strong intellect and demonstrates precision and attention to detail, coupled with excellent organizational skills.
  3. Office Tools: Proficient in Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  4. Workload Management: Ability to manage demanding and fluctuating workloads effectively.
  5. Composure and Attention to Detail: Exhibits thoroughness and attention to detail while maintaining composure under pressure.
  6. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders across the business.
