About the Role

Strategic Business Controller is a key position within Hitachi Vantara Corporation, reporting directly to the BU CFO. As a business partner to the global business controller, this role is responsible for developing a global business model and optimizing financial performance within an assigned Business Unit across Countries and Regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the definition of the strategy for the business unit, serving as the key partner for relevant business leaders in determining strategy for their area of responsibility and developing a global business model, aligning with wider strategy, implementing, and making adjustments in implementation as needed.
  • Defines strategic actions including financial impact, translates strategy into business plans, and establishes measurable longer-term targets. Evaluates financial implications of various strategic decisions, builds scenarios, and recommends actions.
  • Evaluates and follows up on strategic investment/divestment, M&A deals, global footprint decisions, and restructuring projects.
  • Monitors performance of the complete GPG portfolio (by Product lines) including product launches; defines and executes benchmarks for measuring product-line performance across local factories and supports implementation of best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or other relevant business degree.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience of progressive growth in financial controller-related roles at the manufacturing plant level.
  • Ability to gather and analyze information skilfully and develop alternative solutions and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to respond positively to new challenges, meet deadlines, and commitments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience with process capability, statistical process control, and strong project management skills (nice to have).
  • Must have a sense of urgency for change and improvement, and a balanced approach to risk taking and achieving results.
  • Must have outstanding communication skills, including executive presentation skills, able to inspire trust and quickly build credibility.
  • Fluent in English, other languages are an added advantage.
