Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs for Iberia

At British American Tobacco, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs for Iberia. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure the regulatory approach by governments to issues that affect the business operations of BAT in Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, and Andorra.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the political and institutional ecosystem in Spain and Europe, as well as experience in government and regulatory affairs work. They will be able to navigate complex regulatory issues and provide sound advice to the business.
The Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs for Iberia will work closely with the business and other functions such as Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Operations to ensure that the company's regulatory approach is aligned with its business objectives.
The role will also involve collaborating with external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, third-party partners, political parties, and organizations. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, as well as experience in managing and developing high-performance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the regulatory approach by governments to issues that affect the business operations of BAT in Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, and Andorra.
- Collaborate with the business and other functions such as Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Operations to ensure that the company's regulatory approach is aligned with its business objectives.
- Work closely with external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, third-party partners, political parties, and organizations.
- Manage and develop high-performance teams.
Requirements:
- Experience in government and regulatory affairs work, preferably with experience from another FMCG company, a political or public institution, and/or in consultancy and in-house roles.
- Deep understanding of the political and institutional ecosystem in Spain and Europe.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Experience in managing and developing high-performance teams.
