About the Role:

The Gnc Modelling and Simulation Engineer will be integrated into the Gnc/Aocs Competence Centre of the Flight Systems Business Unit at Deimos Space, where they will develop Modelling and Simulation solutions to support the growth and maturation of the areas in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (Gnc), including Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (Aocs), and Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (Fdir).

The work of the Gnc/Aocs Competence Centre is oriented to the design, development, specification, and validation of autonomous systems, including Gnc and Aocs systems, for a broad range of aerospace and aeronautical platforms.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Specification, design, implementation, and validation of environmental, spacecraft, sensor and actuator dynamics
  • Development and maintenance of tools for model validation and versioning
  • Support to CC wide strategies for code re-usability and scalability

Requirements:

  • Education: A recognized engineering degree (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic) or a related degree (e.g. Physics, Maths)
  • Desired: Postgraduate studies (MSc or PhD) with a focus on aeronautical/aerospace engineering
  • Professional Experience: Minimum relevant professional experience of 1-3 years

Technical Requirements:

  • Strong Matlab/Simulink background
  • Modelling of environment, S/C dynamics and equipment
  • Good S/W programming skills

Language Skills:

  • Good level of English, spoken and written

Personal Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skill
  • Eagerness and willingness to undertake a steep learning curve
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
