About the Role:
As a Design to Value Transformation Specialist at Hitachi Energy, you will have a unique opportunity to drive product margin enhancements and lead the development of innovative solutions within the Distribution, Dry, and Traction transformers portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead reverse engineering and benchmarking activities to identify areas for improvement and optimize product design.
- Manage and improve processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Coordinate activities with designated locations to ensure seamless implementation of Design to Value principles.
- Develop and provide training on Design for Manufacturability (DFA) and Design for Assembly (DFM) concepts to cross-functional teams.
- Conduct complex analysis to provide suggestions for improvements in operations and manufacturing processes.
- Organize and facilitate cross-functional workshops to drive idea generation and implementation.
- Perform product and process cost analysis to identify areas for cost reduction.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret product cost and technical data to inform decision-making.
- Utilize idea management tools to drive innovation and improvement within the Design to Value methodology.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, product design, or related areas.
- Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong coaching skills to provide training and development for the organization.
- Working knowledge of new product introduction, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability and assembly principles.
- Demonstrated commitment to product and process improvement.
- Change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization.
