About the Role

The Freight and Customs department at Werfen is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee. As a key member of our logistics team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution centers and maximizing service levels within approved budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Update, control, and check transport SAP data, including costs, transit times, claims, and documents.
  • Review and allocate transport costs to ensure accurate and efficient logistics operations.
  • Coordinate Iberian transport, including direct contact with carriers, couriers, and forwarders, to ensure timely shipments from and to our distribution centers in Spain and Portugal.
  • Solve incidents and issues related to deliveries, customs, or national transport matters, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure business continuity.
  • Align with other departments to ensure on-time delivery to customers and distribution centers, maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Keep a constant interaction with Distribution, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and QA teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Update material master with customs information to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Contribute to projects and provide creative insights to drive business growth and improvement.

Requirements

  • Education: Studying a career or education cycle related to Logistics, Supply Chain, Customs, or Administration.
  • Experience: Not necessary, but a plus if you have relevant experience in logistics or a related field.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven ability to work with numbers and data, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and projects effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment within general policy guidelines, with a strong sense of initiative and responsibility.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, with knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems a plus.
