Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a line clearance team, ensuring effective communication and adherence to operational policies, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on crew member employment matters, including hiring, disciplinary actions, and compliance with policies.
  • Conduct interviews for potential hires and ensure adherence to new hire protocols.
  • Assess crew performance for promotions and provide consistent performance evaluations to support career advancement.
  • Participate in training for administering drug testing and understand reasonable suspicion protocols.
  • Foster positive employee relations and exercise sound judgment in conflict resolution, working closely with Human Resources.
  • Provide training and coaching to team members, evaluating performance and offering constructive feedback.
  • Guide lead crew members in technical operations, ensuring safe practices and efficient production.
  • Interpret work orders related to tree trimming and removal, demonstrating an understanding of relevant diagrams and symbols.
  • Assign tasks to crew members and supervise work execution, adapting to field requirements as necessary.
  • Conduct safety training sessions and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports regarding crew operations, providing updates to supervisors and utility representatives.
  • Investigate incidents and damage claims, serving as a representative for minor claims resolution.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management on workers' compensation claims and return-to-work processes.
  • Manage crew costs effectively, optimizing manpower and operational methods.
  • Inspect equipment and tools for proper functioning, requesting repairs as needed.
  • Stay informed about new equipment and operational standards.
  • In emergency situations, take decisive action to mitigate hazards and restore services efficiently.
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders professionally, representing Wright Tree Service positively.
  • Work in proximity to hazardous equipment and energized power lines, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Be prepared for exposure to various weather conditions and physical environments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage stress and multitask effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of arboriculture, including tree identification and maintenance techniques.
  • Familiarity with ANSI standards for tree care operations.
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and safety guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and ability to read circuit maps.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with the public and colleagues.
  • Commitment to enforcing safety practices on the job.
  • Ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Physical capability to enter and exit vehicles frequently and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during emergencies, including weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL) and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Certification in herbicide application as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Current First-Aid and CPR certification.
