Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package consisting of a salary range of $140,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience, plus stock options, benefits, and perks. We also provide a workation policy, allowing you to take up to 60 days off per year from a country different from your base country.

Job Description

As an Engineering Manager at commercetools, you will be responsible for leading our software development team in delivering high-quality products that meet the needs of our customers. Your mission will be to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge commerce solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop technical strategies to meet those needs.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of quality, security, and scalability.
  • Mentor and coach engineers to help them grow professionally and personally.
  • Develop and implement processes and tools to improve team efficiency and productivity.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing software development teams.
  • Strong technical skills in backend development on the JVM and experience with agile software development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Experience working in a distributed team environment and fostering a sense of belonging among team members.
  • Fluent written and spoken English skills to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
