Engineering Manager Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at Commercetools. As a servant leader, you will work closely with the Product Manager and Omnichannel Leader to enable retailers to use our solutions across multiple channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Development: Foster a culture of growth and development within your team, ensuring everyone feels safe to express their ideas and suggestions.
  • Feedback Culture: Encourage a culture of mutual constructive feedback and support in your team.
  • Delivery Responsibility: Ensure smooth delivery and processes within your team.
  • Blocker Removal: Collaborate with your team and Product Manager to remove blockers and seek process improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Embody a continuous journey to improve your team.

Requirements:

  • Multiple years of experience as a manager of software engineers in a product team.
  • An engineering background, ideally in web-based technologies.
  • A passion for growing, coaching, and mentoring your team.
  • Experience in leading distributed teams and fostering belonging in a remote setup.
  • An excellent understanding of agile software development methodologies, best practices, and tools.
  • A solid understanding of software architecture and system design.
  • Excellent soft skills, including communication, empathy, and self-reflection.
  • Fluent written and spoken English to work in an international environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in a retail store setting, including payment processing and physical devices.
  • Experience with MACH principles and solutions composed in MACH environments.
  • Experience in retail or commerce-enabling Cloud/SaaS solutions.
