Role Overview
The Finance Business Partner for Italy and Spain serves as a vital resource for financial matters concerning the Managing Directors of Italy and Spain, acting as a strategic partner to the commercial teams in these regions.
As the primary financial liaison for the designated business, this role provides support and guidance to the local management team in commercial and operational decision-making processes, drives transformation, and recommends solutions to achieve the business objectives and targets for the Italy/Iberia cluster. The Finance Business Partner plays a crucial role in promoting finance digitalization and standardization initiatives, facilitating the transition to a new finance operating model.
This position is accountable for both the short- and long-term financial performance of the Iberia and Italy cluster, collaborating closely with the management teams in these regions. The role is instrumental in shaping and defining the cluster's strategy concerning volume and profitability, pricing strategies, customer/product/market mix, cost management, and working capital oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Managing Directors and commercial teams in Italy and Spain; collaborate with the business to provide insightful decision support to management while influencing and challenging critical decisions.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and commercial team to develop and implement the commercial strategy for the area of responsibility.
- Guide the Mid-Term Plan (MTP) for the cluster in accordance with the processes and guidelines established by Global FP&A.
- Drive the financial performance of the cluster, with a focus on profitability and working capital management, aligned with strategic and business objectives.
- Work alongside FP&A to provide analytical support to the business and management, enhancing their understanding of business dynamics.
- Partner with FP&A in preparing budgets and forecasts, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Lead and coordinate initiatives aimed at enhancing business performance, particularly in profitability and working capital improvements.
- Oversee the preparation of commercial business cases related to business expansions, outsourcing agreements, and sales initiatives.
- Support the transition to the new finance operating model, including leveraging Global Business Services (GBS).
- Drive process improvement initiatives within finance, emphasizing digitalization and standardization.
- Collaborate with the Pricing team to ensure accurate product pricing for customers, based on FP&A analyses of costs.
- Ensure the integrity and financial controls within the cluster by utilizing and building upon data and insights from global finance functions.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Proficient in business English, both written and verbal.
- Extensive experience in finance, with prior roles in accounting, FP&A, or business partnering within a multinational environment, preferably in B2B or food industries.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities within a matrix organization.
- Open-minded and inquisitive, with a desire to continuously learn and explore various finance aspects; self-starter.
- Analytical, hands-on, flexible, and solution-oriented, with a strong drive to achieve targets.
- Excellent team player.
- Familiarity with SAP (including BW) and knowledge of IFRS.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines while maintaining focus in a dynamic environment.
This role involves travel and is based in either Italy or Spain.
