Role Overview

The Finance Business Partner for Italy and Spain serves as a crucial advisor on financial matters to the Managing Directors of these regions and acts as a strategic partner to the commercial teams.

This position is the primary financial liaison for the designated business area, providing support and guidance to the local management team in both commercial and operational decision-making processes. The role is pivotal in driving change and proposing solutions that align with the business objectives of the Italy/Iberia cluster. The Finance Business Partner champions initiatives related to financial digitalization and standardization, facilitating the transition to a new finance operating model.

The Finance Business Partner is accountable for the financial performance—both short-term and long-term—of the Italy and Iberia cluster, collaborating closely with the management teams in these regions. This role is instrumental in shaping the cluster's strategy concerning volume and profitability, pricing strategies, customer/product/market mix, cost management, and working capital oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a financial partner to the Managing Directors and commercial teams in Italy and Spain, providing insightful decision support while influencing and challenging key management decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director and commercial team to develop and implement the commercial strategy for the region.
  • Oversee the Mid-Term Plan (MTP) for the cluster, adhering to processes and guidelines established by Global FP&A.
  • Drive the financial outcomes of the cluster, focusing on profitability and working capital management in alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Provide analytical support to the business and management to enhance understanding of business dynamics.
  • Work closely with FP&A to prepare budgets and forecasts, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Lead and coordinate initiatives aimed at enhancing business performance, particularly in profitability and working capital.
  • Manage the preparation of commercial business cases related to business expansions and outsourcing agreements.
  • Support the transition to the new finance operating model, including leveraging Global Business Services (GBS).
  • Drive process improvement initiatives within finance, focusing on digitalization and standardization.
  • Collaborate with the Pricing team to ensure accurate product pricing for customers, reflecting comprehensive cost analyses.
  • Ensure financial integrity and control within the clusters by utilizing data and insights from global finance functions.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proficient in business English, both written and spoken.
  • Significant experience in finance, with prior roles in accounting, FP&A, or business partnering within a multinational environment, preferably in B2B or food sectors.
  • Strong stakeholder management abilities within a matrix organization.
  • Open-minded, curious, and eager to learn and explore various finance aspects; a self-starter.
  • Analytical, hands-on, flexible, and solution-oriented, with a strong drive to meet targets.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Familiarity with SAP, including BW.
  • Knowledge of IFRS standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines while maintaining focus in a dynamic environment.

This role requires travel and is based in Italy or Spain.
