Context:

  • GEM Iberia is a pivotal local business platform within GEM, responsible for developing and managing GEM's operations in Spain and Portugal. Its team is primarily based in Madrid, allowing for close proximity to its markets and clients while leveraging the extensive expertise and global footprint of GEM and ENGIE.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Establish and nurture robust relationships with key clients in the renewable downstream energy sector, serving as the primary contact for key accounts and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Formulate and implement sales strategies aimed at achieving revenue targets for green power products, including solar, wind, and other renewable energy solutions.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing key accounts, exploring potential expansions of product offerings and services to meet client needs, including risk management services.
  • Market Analysis: Remain informed about market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in the renewable energy sector, providing insights into market dynamics that may influence sales strategies.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for power purchase agreements (PPAs) and other contractual arrangements, ensuring favorable terms for both the company and the client while considering regulatory compliance and risk management.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including project development, legal, finance, and technical teams, to ensure seamless execution of projects and contracts.
  • Sales Reporting: Generate regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and key account activities (SalesForce, CRM...), providing analysis and recommendations for optimizing sales strategies.
  • Customer Education: Inform clients about the advantages of green power solutions, sustainability initiatives, and the environmental impact of renewable energy projects.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by key accounts promptly, working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure effective solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, environmental science, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA, MSc) is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in key account management, sales, or business development within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on green power products.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and sustainability trends.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to clients.
  • Self-motivated with strong teamwork skills.
  • Customer risk management orientation.
  • Results-driven with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to green power sales and renewable energy projects.
