Job Summary

New York University (NYU) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to serve as the Director of NYU Madrid. This is a full-time senior leadership position based in Madrid, Spain, reporting to the Vice Chancellor and Vice Provost for Global Programs. The Director will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for NYU Madrid, ensuring excellence in academic programs, and overseeing all operations at the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership for NYU Madrid, aligning objectives with the university's mission and objectives.
  • Ensure conformity with University goals and objectives and U.S. higher education best practices.
  • Advance a plan for NYU Madrid, including space planning, staff/lecturers, and students.
  • Coordinate with all site operations for successful implementation of established strategies.
  • Oversee NYU Madrid's academic strategies, including faculty recruitment, faculty development, curriculum development, and course selection.
  • Develop and supervise administrative/professional staff.
  • Make recommendations for hiring, salary adjustments, and personnel issues.
  • Partner with team leadership and Global HR to enhance the employee experience.
  • Embrace NYU's University Initiatives, including Diversity, Affordability, Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Sustainability, and Student Success.
Qualifications
  • PhD or terminal degree.
  • A minimum of 10 years related work experience.
  • A track record of exceptional senior organizational/operational leadership experience in an academic higher education setting.
  • Experience in driving academic program development and improvements.
  • Experience in managing, developing, and improving operational processes within a business and academic environment.
  • Experience in leading on successful projects and initiatives, including change management.
