New York University (NYU) is seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Director of NYU Madrid. This is a full-time senior leadership position based in Madrid, Spain, reporting to the Vice Chancellor and Vice Provost for Global Programs. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for NYU Madrid, ensuring alignment with the university's mission and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic planning and leadership for NYU Madrid, ensuring academic, student life, and administrative objectives are aligned with the university's mission and objectives.
- Oversee all operations at NYU Madrid, including academic programs, student life, and administration.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the quality of programs, services, and communication at NYU Madrid.
- Maintain relationships and partnerships with local universities, vendors, and community resources to ensure NYU Madrid's engagement within the community.
- Respond to crises and coordinate with local agencies and offices in NY as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD or terminal degree, a minimum of 10 years of related work experience, and a track record of exceptional senior organizational/operational leadership experience in an academic higher education setting. They will also have experience in driving academic program development and improvements, managing operational processes, and leading successful projects and initiatives.
Preferred QualificationsExtensive work in a university setting, preferably as a scholar, with proven administrative and supervisory experience at a director level for at least 3 years. Experience in program development and expansion is also preferred.
