About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Pastry Chef to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating exceptional pastry and bakery products that exceed our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative pastry and bakery menus that showcase our brand's unique flavor profiles and presentation styles.
  • Lead a team of pastry chefs and bakers to ensure seamless execution of pastry and bakery operations, including production, presentation, and plating.
  • Collaborate with our culinary team to create cohesive and visually appealing desserts and pastry displays.
  • Source high-quality ingredients and materials to maintain the highest standards of quality and consistency.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of ingredients and materials.
  • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all pastry and bakery products meet our high standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to continuously improve our pastry and bakery offerings.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a pastry chef or head baker in a high-end hotel or restaurant.
  • Proven track record of creating innovative and visually appealing pastry and bakery products.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of pastry chefs and bakers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Knowledge of local and international pastry and bakery trends, ingredients, and techniques.
