Job Summary:

The Regional General Manager Southern Europe will be responsible for driving the success of the Abbott Point of Care division across the region, overseeing all aspects of management, strategy, and leadership. This role is pivotal in boosting sales, managing P&L, and leading a dynamic team. The General Manager empowers commercial and distributor organizations to exceed customer expectations and fuel business growth. Key responsibilities include spearheading marketing initiatives and strategic business development to uncover new product and market opportunities within Abbott's portfolio. This role also involves meticulous planning for two major product launches over the next two years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive sales growth and manage P&L for the region
  • Lead sales teams in direct markets (France, Italy) and manage distributors in indirect markets (Spain, Portugal)
  • Define and advance regional strategy in alignment with global organization
  • Manage and grow relationships with Abbott Point of Care customers
  • Identify and prioritize market growth opportunities
  • Execute 2 major product launches over the next 2 years
  • Interact with KOLs
  • Improve KPIs: Sales productivity, Service quality, Operational efficiency
  • Ensure contract compliance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Anticipate market trends and implement necessary changes
  • Acquire, inspire, and retain top talent
  • Develop a high-performance organization and culture of innovation
  • Ensure legal and ethical operations


Critical Success Factors:
  • Experienced manager of a $5-10MM+ healthcare business with P&L responsibility
  • Hands-on operational style with a drive for business expansion and double-digit growth
  • Sales excellence and leadership skills to build a high-performing team
  • Ability to manage strategic distributor partnerships
  • Strategic planning skills to analyze markets and execute successful business strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to network with national healthcare bodies and key opinion leaders


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field
  • 10+ years of sales experience in point of care diagnostics, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, or medical technology
  • 2-3 years of experience selling to executive decision-makers
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% within the territory
  • Extensive contracting experience
  • Fluency in English and one other language (French preferred, Spanish or Italian)
