Customer-Facing Exadata DBA Role
This is a customer-facing position at Oracle, an inclusive employer and a member of my Gwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community. As a remote customer support DBA, you will analyze and coordinate the resolution of customer impacting issues requiring deep DBA and Exadata knowledge. You will work closely with Oracle Product Support and internal OCI Cloud teams, typically via Zoom. The majority of customers are in Latin America, and thus a good level of spoken and written Spanish or Portuguese, on top of very good English, is required. The working hours will be 05 AM – 03 PM Central European Summer Time for 4 days in the working week.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that client's business impacting issues are properly handled and resolved at the shortest possible time.
- Collaborate with Oracle Product Support and internal OCI Cloud teams to resolve customer issues.
- Apply deep DBA and Exadata knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve customer impacting issues.
Requirements:
- 8 Years of Experience in Technology Related Activities including external customer interaction.
- Knowledge of Exadata operations (patching, upgrades, node addition, storage cell addition and storage configuration).
- Knowledge of DBA tasks (performance tuning, patching, backup & recovery, Data Guard).
- Knowledge of Clusterware – RAC/GRID configurations (configuration, upgrade).
- Overall knowledge of Cloud Computing.
- Experience in any Unix shell scripting.
- OCI knowledge (networking, access management).
- Good level of spoken and written Spanish or Portuguese.
- Good level of spoken and written English.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
