Business Development Leader for Financial Services

We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Leader to spearhead our growth efforts in Spain, focusing on the dynamic landscape of the bank and non-bank financial services industry.

Your core responsibility will involve identifying and establishing relationships with senior decision-makers at target accounts, crafting and implementing comprehensive plans to secure new business and exceed sales targets.

You will be based in Madrid and work closely with our team to orchestrate effective sales campaigns and initiatives that expand our customer base and foster substantial growth in monthly recurring revenue.

  • Define and execute client engagement strategies.
  • Conduct client discovery to establish key organizational goals and win themes.
  • Develop and manage an effective pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Manage complex 9–12-month sales cycles.
  • Nurture relationships with key client stakeholders.
  • Negotiate enterprise-level contractual agreements.
  • Closure of deals.
  • Support Client and Account Management teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely sale cadence reports.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of seven years' experience solution selling into or within enterprise technology.
  • A minimum of five years working within the financial services industry, specifically credit risk decisioning across the customer lifecycle.
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrable experience in discovery lead sales.
  • Experience mapping key organizational stakeholders and goals.
  • Demonstrable ability to engage with and manage 'C' level relationships.
  • Experience in cloud-hosted technology solutions.
  • Working knowledge of BPM, CRM, Case Management Software, or enterprise-wide specific solutions within a vertical market.
  • Ability to thrive in an accountable sales culture.
  • Organized and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to understand complex business problems and provide simplified solutions.
  • Experience in advanced sales questioning and sales methodologies.
  • Self-motivation and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to consult to a range of multi-cultural banks and non-bank financial institutions.
  • Consistent track record of achieving and/or exceeding sales targets.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, other major European languages a plus.
