Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Microbiome Laboratory Technician to join our team at ADM - Global. As a key member of our Probiotics Plant in Valencia, Spain, you will be responsible for executing experimental plans in our Microbiome Laboratory, utilizing in vitro gastro-intestinal simulators and bioreactors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply advanced microbiology techniques, including plate count (CFU), triple streaking, serial dilution, and optical microscopy observation to ensure accurate results.
- Conduct microbial cultures in petri dishes, broth cultures, multiwell plates, and bioreactors, adhering to strict quality control standards.
- Perform basic molecular biology techniques such as DNA extraction and PCR to analyze microbial samples.
- Prepare samples for biological, chemical, and biochemical analysis, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
- Register samples accurately and maintain detailed records of experimental protocols and results.
- Validate initial results, identify, and report any issues during analysis, ensuring high-quality data.
- Maintain and verify analysis equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Commit to safety and health standards, adhering to company policies and regulations.
- Develop and write new protocols, collaborating with scientists and researchers to advance our understanding of microbiome dynamics.
- Organize and centralize requests for laboratory materials through our inventory management system, ensuring efficient procurement and supply chain management.
- Support project research activities under the direction of our scientists, contributing to the development of new probiotic products and technologies.
Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant scientific field, such as microbiology, molecular biology, or a related discipline.
- 1-5 years of experience in a laboratory or pilot plant setting, with a strong background in microbiology and molecular biology techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate productively with colleagues and scientists.
- Proficiency in computer tools, including MS Office, Word, Excel, and SAP.
- Additional requirements include responsibility, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
