About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering and building service excellence over and above our customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Represent the Company: Represent our company in a positive, professional manner in all interactions with customers, both external and internal.
  2. Travel and Service Delivery: Frequent trips in Spain/Portugal and occasionally in other countries in EMEA to deliver service commitments and complete installations, repairs, data analysis and calibrations, preventative maintenance, training, and radiation services on X-Ray fluorescence Spectrometers and optical emission spectrometers.
  3. Service Reporting and Documentation: Responsible for providing services remotely or on-site within the agreed conditions; sets the accurate priorities, and maintains a high level of customer allegiance by building strong customer relationships and promoting an excellent customer experience.
  4. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Partner with our commercial colleagues to deliver customer deals that can be implemented profitably and meet/exceed customer expectations, and help on continuous improvement through our Practical Process Improvement Business System.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Diploma or equivalent education preferable in electrical engineering, chemistry, engineering, or technical training in the field of electronics or training in the chemical field with technical orientation, and five years of work experience in technical services.
  2. Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal communication both written and oral in English, ability to work efficiently with customers and colleagues in difficult and stressful situations, good knowledge of electronics and mechanics, customer friendliness and a professional demeanor, PC literacy including MS Office and Outlook, ability to travel (both domestic and internationally) up to 80%, and a valid driver's license.
