Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Edwards Lifesciences in Spain. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for planning and executing the procurement of materials required to support customer demand and new product introduction.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the business unit production schedule, ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet customer demand.
- Manage issues preventing execution of the Master Production Schedule and production plan, including non-conforming materials or processes, material or equipment availability, and unplanned requirements.
- Analyze resource availability and develop short-mid-long-range capacity plans with manufacturing and support teams to ensure plans are met.
- Work order management, including generation, follow-up, and closure, to ensure accurate information and correct signals from the Master Production Schedule/MRP.
- Manage work order progress, including working with production and other supporting departments to ensure production plans are met.
- Establish and maintain inventory health targets, including developing action plans to optimize inventory within the site while considering overall organization inventory.
- Plan materials requirements aligned to demand coming from production schedules and new product launches, including working with suppliers and supplier quality to ensure materials are made to proper specs.
- Negotiate pricing and delivery with suppliers, and lead cross-functional teams to resolve obstacles to meeting the schedule.
- Provide spend analysis and insights that drive operational improvement and cost savings, reporting on Procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and forecasting performance for various spend categories.
- Expediting purchase orders as required, including expediting material from the receiving dock through receiving inspection to production stores.
- Establish and maintain gross inventory targets, including developing action plans to minimize inventory exposure and for scrapping or mitigating excess and obsolete parts based on business information.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent previous related experience.
- Experience in purchasing and/or production control required.
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. JDE) preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives.
- APICS certification preferred.
- Experience working in a medical device and/or regulated industry preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Full knowledge and understanding of Edwards policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to purchasing material and/or production control.
- Full knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and inventory management programs (e.g. JIT/Kanban, Min/Max).
- Full knowledge of market and economic indicators, practices, and procurement procedures.
- Strict attention to detail.
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams, key contact representing the organization on contracts or projects, and vendors/suppliers.
- Ability to interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
