About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Apparel Design to join our team at Puma. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of innovative and high-quality apparel designs for the golf and global sport markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement design strategies that align with Puma's brand vision and values.
  • Lead a team of designers in the creation of apparel designs, ensuring high-quality execution and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and sales, to ensure design solutions meet business objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the golf and global sport markets, and apply this knowledge to drive design innovation.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key partners and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of design materials.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Puma's brand identity and ensure design solutions align with this vision.

Requirements:

  • University or Art School Degree in Apparel Design, Graphic Design, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant design experience in Golf or Sport as a senior-level apparel and graphic designer.
  • 3+ years managing a team of designers with proven creative leadership capabilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of fit, blocks, performance garment construction, and graphic execution.
  • Knowledge of the Golf and Global Sport market, including competition, distribution, pricing, product, consumer, and retail environment.
  • Trend and color analysis and planning skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), and AI (e.g., MidJourney).
  • Storytelling and communication skills for conveying seasonal stories and product initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a global audience.
  • Strong team management and networking skills with the ability to manage key partnerships in multiple locations.
  • Presentation skills and the ability to liaise effectively with senior management from brainstorming to final application of brand direction and commercial requirements.
