Actuarial Leadership Role at Allianz

About the Role:

The Business Steering Manager will lead the actuarial functions in the Life Area, providing actuarial calculations advice to maximize business value for shareholders in the long run. This role is responsible for directing and organizing actuarial activities associated with Reserving, Reinsurance, and Analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the in-force management practice in Spain, steering in-force KPIs aligned with company strategic objectives and consistent with solvency and IFRS17.
  2. Analyze the in-force portfolio, including assumptions, cost allocation, profitability, portfolio segmentation, value for the customer, cost control, and remuneration of sales networks.
  3. Review and build internal policy for in-force, proposing actions such as cross-selling, predictive analysis, revisit profit participation, maturity management, and retention.
  4. Supervise local Life Reserve calculation, ensuring proper provision and reporting on liabilities and adequacy of reserves to interest rates, mortality tables, and loadings.
  5. Review and arrange necessary longevity reinsurance arrangements.
  6. Perform experience analysis and ensure reasonableness of actuarial assumptions on pricing, valuation, and planning using traditional methodologies and predictive models.
  7. Drive process streamlining and automation.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and ongoing support.

Requirements:

  1. Master's degree or above in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  2. Extensive experience (+10/15 years) in Life Actuarial area in consulting or insurance company in business-related functions.
  3. Strong experience with ALM modeling and life actuarial software; Risk Agility Financial Modeling (RAFM) is a plus.
  4. Programming skills in R, Python, and expertise in machine learning, along with familiarity working with SAS databases.
  5. Familiarity with main insurance product types, investment, risk implications, and accounting (e.g., Solvency II, IFRS 17).
