Laboratory Technician in the Smart Nano-Bio-Devices Research Group

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Smart Nano-Bio-Devices Research Group. As a key member of our team, you will provide scientific support to our research activities, focusing on the development and characterization of nanoparticles and nanosystems for bioengineering, biotechnological, and biomedical applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and synthesize micro- and nanoparticles (inorganic and organic) for research projects.
- Support group members in the synthesis and characterization of nanoparticles.
- Maintain and operate analytical and characterization tools, including equipment based on your skills.
- Prepare and characterize samples using microscopy techniques such as SEM and TEM.
- Organize lab activities, order reagents and equipment, and coordinate with other technicians and the Group Leader.
- Train new users on equipment and lab procedures.
- Manage the group's equipment reservation calendars and lab spaces.
- Act as a contact person between researchers and distributors, maintenance, security, and other IBEC departments.
- Ensure lab safety and compliance with regulations.
- Degree in chemistry, nanoscience, nanotechnology, nanomaterials, chemistry biomedical engineering, or similar.
- Knowledge of nanoparticle synthesis (inorganic or organic) and characterization techniques.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of English proficiency.
- Full-time contract for 12 months.
