Job Description

The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (IBEC) is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Smart Nano-Bio-Devices Research Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our research activities, focusing on the development and characterization of nanoparticles, nanosystems, and nanomotors for bioengineering, biotechnological, and biomedical applications.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in the synthesis of micro- and nanoparticles, as well as support group members in their research projects.
  • Contribute to projects related to 3D printing and maintenance of analytical and characterization tools.
  • Manage the lab's equipment reservation calendars and train new users in the use of equipment and lab procedures.
  • Ensure lab safety and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Coordinate with other technicians and the Group Leader to ensure smooth lab operations.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in chemistry, nanoscience, nanotechnology, nanomaterials, chemistry biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of nanoparticle synthesis and characterization techniques, including DLS, Z-potential, and spectroscopy.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of English proficiency.
