Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Applications Scientist II to join our Life Sciences Solutions Group. As a key member of our team, you will provide pre- and post-sales technical support for our sequencing portfolio, particularly Ion Torrent Next Generation Sequencing instrumentation and Oncomine and AmpliSeq applications, software, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for NGS products and workflows by answering customer technical inquiries via various channels.
  • Collaborate with various experts within our organization to resolve technical issues and provide support to customers and field personnel.
  • Work with Clinical Application Scientists and Field Application Scientists to ensure effective support for Ion and Oncomine Assays.
  • Accurately record pertinent information from customer contacts in our Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Gather commercial and technological trends and convert them into technical tips, create FAQs, and work on troubleshooting guides.
  • Recommend changes to our knowledge databases, websites, and other company-managed resources of technical information.
  • Present technical updates to colleagues and contribute to our department meetings.
  • Participate in frequent training on products and continuing education on our new applications and technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics) is required; a Master's degree or PhD/post-doctoral experience in a relevant field is preferred.
  • 2+ years laboratory experience with strong 'Hands on' experience with Sequencing techniques, ideally with Oncology sequencing experience.
