Our Presence in Spain
SSE Renewables entered the Spanish market in 2022. We have offices in Madrid, Bilbao, Zaragoza, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Santiago de Compostela. Our development portfolio includes 64MW already in construction at our Jubera I and II onshore wind projects in La Rioja, which together are targeting commissioning at the end of 2025. The portfolio also includes 127MW of late-stage onshore wind projects at development site locations in Castilla y Leon and Aragón.

Job Title: Director of Public and Regulatory Affairs for Spain
Location: Madrid, Spain

About the Job
We're looking for an experienced professional to lead on regulatory issues and engagement with key stakeholders, including government officials and ministers at national and regional level, regulators, trade associations, government agencies, and non-governmental organisations. As Director of Public and Regulatory Affairs for Spain, you will build and maintain strong working-level relationships with key external stakeholders. You will gather and analyse up-to-date intelligence on political, governmental, regulator, and key influencer activities in Spain to provide policy and regulatory advice to SSE Renewables management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on regulatory issues and engagement with key stakeholders
  • Gather and analyse up-to-date intelligence on political, governmental, regulator, and key influencer activities in Spain
  • Provide policy and regulatory advice to SSE Renewables management
  • Closely monitor and assess regulatory changes that affect the operation of SSE Renewables' assets in Spain
