The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead our Onshore Wind, Solar, and Battery operations in Europe. As Director of Renewable Energy Development, you will be responsible for developing and delivering technology strategies to expand our European footprint, aligning with our strategic objectives to accelerate growth, optimize value, and achieve a just transition to net zero.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the development, construction, delivery, and operation of onshore wind, solar, and battery assets in Europe.
  • Lead a team of circa 100 staff, contractors, and specialist consultants, driving performance, innovation, and capability development.
  • Establish and manage asset management businesses responsible for operational assets, ensuring safe and commercial operations.
  • Make recommendations on greenfield and brownfield opportunities to the Executive Committee.
  • Drive operational safety, health, and wellbeing performance, embedding a safety-first culture.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of the renewables industry within European markets, including wind, solar, and battery technologies.
  • Experience in high-value, complex capital projects, with a deep understanding of commercial value drivers of operational services.
  • Strong people leadership skills and significant experience in leading teams, projects, and programs.
  • Experience in negotiations and excellent stakeholder management skills to drive delivery and optimize investments.
  • A growth mindset, with experience of change programs and empowering innovative ideas and opportunities.

Language Requirements

Candidates should be fluent in Spanish and/or Italian, with the ability to do business in English. Regular travel will be a requirement of this position.
