Position Overview

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Ferrovial Energy plays a pivotal role in overseeing and implementing robust cybersecurity measures across the organization and its subsidiaries. This leadership position is tasked with initiating, planning, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing all facets of cybersecurity within Ferrovial Energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and expand the cybersecurity function at Ferrovial Energy in alignment with business requirements.
  • Establish a comprehensive cybersecurity framework that addresses the needs of various business units, subsidiaries, and joint ventures.
  • Engage in negotiations on behalf of Ferrovial Energy regarding cybersecurity contracts and standards with business units and partners.
  • Ensure the implementation of effective cybersecurity measures and controls for products and services developed through digital and technological initiatives.
  • Maintain and continuously enhance these cybersecurity measures throughout the lifecycle of products and services.
  • Oversee security projects, including the initiation and launch of benchmarks and proof of concepts.
  • Manage relationships with cybersecurity vendors providing services to Ferrovial Energy and its subsidiaries.
  • Regularly communicate with senior management to update them on the cybersecurity posture, project milestones, and compliance status.
  • Collaborate with the risk and internal audit teams to support their efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance cybersecurity services across Ferrovial Energy's business units and subsidiaries.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7-10+ years of experience managing complex cybersecurity environments throughout their lifecycle.
  • Prior experience in the energy or utility sectors is preferred.
  • Proven track record in defining, deploying, and enhancing security strategies and governance models in large organizations and international settings.
  • Expertise in risk management frameworks.
  • Knowledge of OT, ICS, and IoT cybersecurity, particularly regarding ISA/IEC 62443 Standards and Defense in Depth strategies.
  • Experience with ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and ENS certified environments.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks associated with legal and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in developing and improving security architectures and infrastructures in corporate and international contexts.
  • Familiarity with architectural models such as SASE and Zero-Trust, along with experience with NIST guidelines.
  • Competence in security incident management and business continuity planning.
  • Skills in cyber intelligence and conducting audits and security reviews.
  • Experience in cybersecurity awareness, communication, and training initiatives.
  • Relevant security certifications (CISA, CISM, CISSP, CPP, ISO 27001, SANS, etc.) are highly regarded.
  • Proficient in English, with strong writing, speaking, and comprehension skills, capable of conducting meetings and presentations fluently.
  • Strong negotiation skills for contracts with regional implications.
  • Ability to manage remote teams across national and international boundaries.
  • Capacity to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive multitasking, problem-solving, and innovative process implementation skills in a dynamic environment.
