Position Overview

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Ferrovial Energy is tasked with overseeing and implementing comprehensive measures and controls to ensure a robust cybersecurity framework for the organization and its subsidiaries. This pivotal role will lead the strategic planning, execution, maintenance, and enhancement of all cybersecurity initiatives within Ferrovial Energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and expand the cybersecurity function at Ferrovial Energy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Establish a cybersecurity framework that addresses the unique needs of various business units, subsidiaries, and joint ventures by formulating and executing a strategic cybersecurity plan.
  • Negotiate cybersecurity agreements and terms with stakeholders across Ferrovial Energy's business units and subsidiaries.
  • Ensure the implementation of effective security measures and controls for digital products and technology initiatives.
  • Oversee the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of security measures throughout the lifecycle of products and services.
  • Manage security projects, including the initiation and execution of benchmarks and proof of concepts.
  • Supervise cybersecurity vendors providing services to Ferrovial Energy's business units and subsidiaries.
  • Maintain regular communication with senior management to update them on the cybersecurity status, project milestones, and compliance matters.
  • Collaborate with the risk and internal audit teams to provide necessary support.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance cybersecurity services across Ferrovial Energy's business landscape.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7-10+ years of experience managing complex cybersecurity environments.
  • Previous experience in the energy or utility sectors.
  • Proven track record in defining and implementing security strategies and governance models in large organizations.
  • Expertise in risk management frameworks.
  • Knowledge of OT, ICS, and IoT cybersecurity, particularly in relation to ISA/IEC 62443 Standards and Defense in Depth strategies.
  • Experience with ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and ENS certified environments.
  • Ability to identify and manage compliance-related risks.
  • Proficiency in developing and enhancing security architectures and infrastructures.
  • Familiarity with SASE and Zero-Trust architecture models, with experience in NIST guidelines being advantageous.
  • Skills in security incident management and business continuity planning.
  • Knowledge of cyber intelligence practices.
  • Experience conducting audits and security assessments.
  • Strong communication and training skills in cybersecurity.
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CPP, ISO 27001, or SANS are preferred.
  • Proficient in English, with strong writing and speaking skills, capable of conducting meetings and presentations effectively.
  • Negotiation skills for contracts with regional implications.
  • Experience managing remote teams across different regions.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
